About me
Hello! My name is Aparajita Pathak. I graduated from San José State University in Spring 2023 with my B.A. in political science.
Since graduation, I have dedicated my career to leveraging my skills and experiences to positively impact the administration of justice through my position as a Judicial Fellow at the Superior Court of California County of San Mateo. By leading innovative initiatives such as developing chatbots for legal inquiries and managing grant applications for critical positions within Collaborative Court caseloads, I have demonstrated a proactive approach to addressing complex challenges in the legal system. Before my role as a Judicial Fellow, I cultivated a strong foundation in education and advocacy, serving as an Instructional Student Assistant and speech and debate coach. These experiences developed my mentoring and leadership abilities and instilled in me a deep sense of empathy and dedication to empowering others to reach their full potential. With a diverse background that includes internships in law offices, grassroots organizing, and coaching, I bring a unique blend of legal expertise, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills to every endeavor. I am driven by a passion for effecting meaningful change and supporting progress in my community and beyond. My academic journey will continue in Fall 2024 as I start pursuing my J.D. degree at the University of San Diego School of Law. What is the Judicial Fellowship Program? |
The Judicial Fellowship Program, one of four nationally recognized graduate-level Capital Fellows Programs, offers a unique blend of paid professional experience, academia and experiential learning within public service and California’s judicial branch. Fellows work full-time in the field of court administration within Superior Courts and Judicial Council offices across California, engaging in research, public policy development, legislative analysis, language access, and community outreach initiatives to advance the judicial branch mission of access to justice. Fellows attend monthly academic and field seminars and receive mentorship from court executive officers and senior staff. Fellows also complete a Fellowship Project addressing real-world challenges in their court or Judicial Council placement and create a digital portfolio showcasing their achievements.
